Questions and answers What's good to know before booking

These are the questions I get most often about wedding photography. If yours isn't here, or you'd like to know more, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Top 10 questions

Are you available on our date?

Dates often get booked a year or more in advance, so the sooner you get in touch the better the chance I'm free.

How do we book?

Get in touch to check the date and talk through your plans. Bookings are taken in order of enquiry and only confirmed once the deposit is received.

What do the packages cost?

Pricing and package options are on my Services page. Feel free to get in touch if you have specific requirements.

Do you take posed or formal shots?

Yes, I do group and family formals too. I'd suggest keeping the list to ten or fewer so we don't lose too much time — I work through them efficiently and painlessly.

Can we print the photos freely?

Yes — you can print as many copies as you like for personal use. Please don't pass them to third-party vendors for commercial use or sell them.

Why do you like black and white?

Black and white strips away distraction, brings out emotion and composition, and gives images a timeless quality.

Where are you based? Do you travel?

I'm based in Budapest but travel regularly between Hungary, Scotland and Italy. I'm happy to shoot weddings anywhere in the world.

How and when do we receive the photos?

Images are delivered via a password-protected online gallery, typically within three weeks. You can view, download and order prints directly from there.

Do you offer albums?

Yes — there are several handcrafted, premium-quality album options to choose from.

Can we meet before the wedding to go through the details?

Absolutely — I strongly recommend a call or meeting (free of charge) to talk through your plans, share tips and answer any questions.

General questions

How should we choose a wedding photographer?

Choose me if my style and approach feel right for you. It's important that you feel at ease with whoever you book.

What should we avoid when choosing a photographer?

Don't decide on price or equipment alone. The most important things are the quality and style of the images.

What does documentary or reportage photography mean?

It means I work with a storytelling eye — capturing the real moments of your day as they happen, through my own point of view.

What is your style?

I capture naturally unfolding moments to tell a visual story. I only direct or pose you if you specifically ask for it.

Services

Do you take on international weddings?

Yes — I'm happy to travel anywhere.

Do you photograph things other than weddings?

Weddings are my main focus, but I also shoot engagement sessions, honeymoons, birthdays, travel and other events.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

Yes — and I approach them the same way: naturally, with a relaxed atmosphere.

Do you work with an assistant or second photographer?

I usually work alone, but I can arrange a second photographer for larger weddings.

Do you visit the venue beforehand?

Yes, if it's helpful I'll visit the venue in advance, and I'm happy to attend the rehearsal to meet the coordinators.

How can family and guests order photos?

They can order directly from the online gallery and have prints shipped to them.

What equipment do you use?

Professional cameras and lenses. I prefer natural light but always carry flash and a backup camera.

How long do you stay at the wedding?

Usually from preparations through to the evening party, but I also offer hourly packages.

Do you provide a written contract?

Yes, always — and it can be signed online.

Photos

Why do you like black and white?

Because it brings out the essence of a moment, keeps things clean, and helps when the light isn't ideal.

Do you retouch every image?

Yes — every photo is fully edited, print-ready and yours to use freely for personal purposes.

How many photos do we get?

There's no upper limit. For a full-day wedding I typically deliver 400 or more. Quality always comes before quantity.

How long do you keep the photos?

I archive images in multiple locations, both offline and online, for as long as possible.

Do you take couple portraits during the day?

Of course — I'm happy to do couple portraits at any point during the day.

Costs

Are there any hidden costs?

If travel is very long-distance, I may need accommodation to avoid delays — this would always be discussed in advance.

Do we need to cover travel or accommodation?

I only charge travel costs when they exceed a reasonable threshold, and I always agree this individually. Booking early can help keep costs down.

Albums

Can we customise the wedding album?

Yes — after the initial design you can review it and request changes before it goes to print.

Do you design the albums yourself?

Yes, I design every album and have them produced by a professional lab.

How many photos go in an album?

It depends on the album size and number of pages, but as a rule of thumb 2 to 3 images per spread keeps the layout elegant.

Other

Do you need a meal on the day?

I'm self-sufficient, but a hot meal is always appreciated. Ideally during the main course so I can be back in position before the speeches.

What happens if you're ill?

I have a network of trusted photographers who can step in if needed.

What if it rains?

I use professional weather-sealed equipment, so rain isn't a problem.
